This project is a major building renovation converting a cafe and fashion store to a boutique hotel that brings the old function as supporting facility. The hotel only has a single bank bedroom in two storey with capacity of 10 rooms. To bring the concept “lite” and “homey”, it creates a compact configuration regarding the land size while each function is connected directly to another, trying to make the users circulate easily and experience the whole space by using the same entrance and front desk. 

Those three functions have a factual relationship to each other, which the building complexes must be rightly identified by the details that must be brought together. The cafe as a central space acts to connect the retail and the hotel. Not only connecting users, it also has an important role as a transitional artistic process for wholeness. The use of warm material like brown wood and rusted colour is essential to balance the thrilling ornaments of the interiors. Meanwhile every function has a similar ornamentation but in different style-character, The hotel is much more likely to get the feeling of “home”, with many warm special lighting and lots of decorative architectural elements which make a strong impression yet comfortable for the user.
